Pharmacists and their teams are integral to your healthcare network, committed to delivering top-notch health services. Maintaining your personal and health records is essential for this commitment, and we respect your privacy and the protection of your information.
We document various types of information:
– Personal details such as your address, birth date, and emergency contacts.
– Records of prescribed and pharmacy-supplied medications.
– Over-the-counter medication purchases.
– Notes on your health and treatments.
– Information from other healthcare providers and family that’s pertinent to your care.
To ensure professional and secure service, we keep records of medications dispensed and healthcare advice given. This data is confidential and shared only with your consent, by legal requirement, or where public interest justifies disclosure. Sharing may occur with healthcare providers like doctors and nurses, with the understanding that they must also maintain confidentiality.
You’re protected by the Data Protection Act 1998 and other privacy laws. Our policies align with the NHS confidentiality standards, and our staff are contractually obligated to keep your information private.
You’re entitled to access your pharmacy records. A fee might be applied for a printed copy. Written requests should be directed to the pharmacy holding your records, and we’ll respond within 40 days. Identification will be required to release information. If you notice any inaccuracies in your records, we encourage you to inform us.
